Introduction

Maintaining and optimizing your online store is essential for providing a seamless user experience and ensuring that your store remains discoverable and functional. This guide outlines key steps for optimizing your store and maintaining its performance.

Store Optimization and Maintenance

Redirects

To maintain a smooth user experience and prevent broken links, we recommend that you:

  1. Pull a list of existing redirects from your store

  2. Add any new redirects identified during the build

  3. Publish your store

  4. Verify redirects

See URL Redirects for more information.

Add Structured Data

Structured data provides search engines with explicit clues about the meaning of pages and their components and can enable special search result features and enhancements in Google.

The different Google ‘rich result’ search features require different types of structured data and implementing them can help achieve rich snippets (a more stand-out, detailed ‘snippet’ in the search results) which may result in more traffic.

See Structured Data for more information.

Manifest File and Favicon

Navigate to the settings panel of Shogun Frontend to enter Manifest information and upload a favicon.

Create 404 and Offline Pages

  1. Create a page with page path /404. See Static Pages for more information.

  2. Add sections that match your 404 page design.

  3. Save your 404 page.

After publishing, this page will automatically be configured as the 404 page.

Testing and Validation

Regular testing and validation are crucial for maintaining the performance and functionality of your store. We recommend conducting a quality assurance (QA) check of your entire store and running performance tests to identify and address any issues.

See Testing and Validation for more information.
